About Vokatta


Vokatta started in 2013 and became an instant hit. On popular demand, Vokatta 2014 turned the national Kite festival into an international one “with a promise to be a regular feature on Kolkata's Festival Calendar.�? Vokatta made itself an International Festival of Kites, and attracted Kite Flyers not only from parts of India but also from different countries like USA, Belgium, Netherland, UK, France, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia and many more, along with the Kite-Lovers from Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, West Bengal and more parts of India. These fliers delivered a spectacular performance filling the winter afternoon sky at Eco Park with their Fabulous Kites. The festival had kites of different shapes and sizes starting from the Biggest Kite to the Smallest Kite of the World. There were other attractions such as hot air balloon which excited the children, a live band performance by Mir & his Bandage followed by a cultural Chau Dance of Purulia. The Kite Festival was inaugurated by Sri Firhad Hakim(present Minister for Urban Development and the Minister for Municipal Affairs in the Government of West Bengal) followed by the Guest of Honors:

At the eve the Eco Park was lighted up by the Lighting Decorations and the sky above, dazzled with the LED Kites and Sky Lanterns which did not bid goodbye to the festival, rather was an invitation for more amazing VOKATTA 2015.
